Direct Advocacy

Direct advocacy includes direct contact with members of the Ohio General Assembly and policy-making officials in the executive branch. We recruit sponsors for legislation, make recommendations on legislation, attend legislative hearings, and assist clients in drafting legislation or amendments. In the event complicated or controversial legislation is considered necessary, our firm enjoys relationships with law firms experienced in crafting this type of legislation. Our principals have ample experience appearing before legislative committees; however, tactically we have found it to be far more effective for clients to provide expert witnesses to testify before legislative committees. We work with clients on identification and preparation of appropriate witnesses.
