Jason Rafeld

Jason Rafeld most recently served as an officer in the United States Navy where he trained with the Navy SEALs, served as the Executive Officer for a command training international allied forces in riverine combat, coastal patrol and drug interdiction and served as a public affairs officer for the SEAL Command. He is currently a lieutenant in the Naval Reserve.

Prior to his military service, Jason was a part of the executive staff for the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation (BWC). During his tenure he participated in the reorganization of this ailing department into what is recognized as one of the most efficient and successful cabinet level agencies in the state. While at BWC, he held the positions of Director of Investigations, Director of Communications, Office Services and Facilities and Executive Assistant to the CEO.

He also formerly served as the Legislative Liaison and Special Assistant to the Director for the Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS). While at DAS Jason was highly involved in controversial reform legislation which allowed the Governor to take over the Ohio BWC which was previously run by an independent board as well as successful efforts to reduce cost and streamline DAS.

Jason has ample campaign experience having staffed for many local, state and federal political campaigns.

Jason received his B.S. degree in Communications from the University of Kentucky in 1993. He has also studied at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland; the Institute on World Legal Problems at the University of Innsbruck in Austria; and the Centre of International & European Economic Law in Greece. Jason is admitted to the practice law in State of Ohio.
